Getting Started

What is Riddlio? +
Riddlio is an all-in-one booking and management platform built specifically for escape rooms and activity venues. It handles online bookings, automated SMS reminders, dynamic pricing, white-label booking widgets, waivers, gift vouchers, and more — all from one dashboard.
How long does it take to get set up? +
Most escape room venues are up and running within 1-2 hours. Create your account, add your rooms and time slots, configure your pricing, embed the booking widget on your website, and you are ready to accept bookings. No developer needed.
Do I need to install any software? +
No. Riddlio is fully cloud-based. You access everything through your web browser. Your customers book through your website using an embeddable widget — no app downloads required.
Can I migrate from another booking system? +
Yes. We help you migrate your existing bookings, customer data, and gift voucher balances from platforms like Resova, Bookeo, or spreadsheets. Contact us and we will guide you through the process.
Is there a free trial? +
Yes, every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required. You get full access to all features during the trial so you can test everything before committing.

Pricing & Billing

How much does Riddlio cost? +
Riddlio starts at $29/month for the Starter plan (1 room), $79/month for the Pro plan (up to 5 rooms), and $199/month for the Unlimited plan (unlimited rooms). All plans include online bookings, Stripe payments, and the booking widget. Higher tiers add advanced analytics, custom branding, dynamic pricing, and API access.
Do you charge per-booking commissions? +
No. Riddlio uses flat monthly pricing with zero per-booking commissions. You keep 100% of your revenue. Unlike platforms that take 4-5% of every booking, your costs stay predictable no matter how much you grow.
What payment gateways do you support? +
Riddlio integrates with Stripe and Square for online payments. You can accept full payments, deposits, or operate as reservation-only. Gift vouchers and customer credit are built in.
Can I change plans or cancel anytime? +
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. No lock-in contracts. If you cancel, your data remains accessible for 30 days.
Are there any setup fees? +
No setup fees, no hidden costs. You pay only the monthly subscription. Payment gateway fees (from Stripe, Square, etc.) are separate and charged directly by the processor.

Features

Does Riddlio support escape room-specific features? +
Yes. Riddlio was built from the ground up for escape rooms. It handles private room bookings, player limits (min/max per room), time slot management, room schedules, waivers, team photos, gift vouchers, and multi-room games with sequential progression.
Can I embed the booking widget on my website? +
Yes. Riddlio provides a fully customizable white-label booking widget that embeds seamlessly into your existing website. You control the colors, fonts, layout, and branding. Your customers never leave your domain.
Does Riddlio support gift vouchers? +
Yes. Gift vouchers are built in — customers purchase a voucher, receive a unique code via email, and redeem it during booking. Vouchers never expire and can be used for any room or experience.
Can I send automated SMS reminders? +
Yes. Riddlio sends automated booking confirmations and SMS reminders to reduce no-shows. You can customize the message content and timing. SMS is included on all plans with a small per-message cost.
Does Riddlio support dynamic pricing? +
Yes. You can set different pricing for peak/off-peak times, weekends, holidays, and special events. Tiered pricing, group discounts, and surcharges are all supported.
Can I manage multiple locations? +
Yes. Riddlio supports multi-venue operations. Each location gets its own rooms, schedules, and pricing, while you manage everything from a single dashboard with unified reporting.

Integrations

What integrations does Riddlio offer? +
Riddlio integrates with Stripe and Square (payments), Twilio (SMS), Mailchimp (email marketing), Google Calendar (two-way sync), and offers a REST API with webhook notifications for booking events. An iCal feed is also available for Outlook, Apple Calendar, and other iCal-compatible apps.
Can I sync bookings with Google Calendar? +
Yes. Riddlio syncs bookings to your Google Calendar automatically via OAuth. Connect your Google account in Settings → Integrations, and every booking creates a calendar event. Cancellations automatically remove the event. You can also subscribe via our iCal feed for Outlook, Apple Calendar, or any iCal-compatible app.
Does Riddlio integrate with my escape room control system? +
Riddlio integrates with the Ticktock Escape Room Controller (GM) and Device Manager (DM) for IoT automation, puzzle sequencing, and session management. For other control systems, we offer a REST API and webhooks.
Is there an API? +
Yes. Riddlio provides a REST API for custom integrations. You can programmatically create bookings, manage time slots, and retrieve customer data. Webhook notifications fire on booking creation, cancellation, and completion events — with HMAC-SHA256 signing for security.

Security & Data

Is my data secure? +
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3). We use role-based access control and 2FA for admin accounts. We never sell or share your data. Daily automated backups with 30-day retention are included. Encryption at rest is on our roadmap.
Who owns my customer data? +
You do. You own all your customer data and can export it at any time as CSV or JSON. If you leave Riddlio, we provide a full data export and delete your data within 30 days of cancellation.
Is Riddlio GDPR compliant? +
Yes. Riddlio is GDPR compliant. We provide data export, data deletion, and customer consent management tools. Our privacy policy and data processing agreement are available on request.
What happens if there is an outage? +
Riddlio runs on cloud infrastructure designed for reliability. If an outage occurs, our booking widget falls back to a graceful "booking unavailable" message rather than crashing your website.
